Designer, educator, environmentalist, husband, and dad (not necessarily in that order), Todd Barsanti is a Professor of Design at Sheridan College. With a focus on design foundations, Todd integrates sustainability issues into design curricula and helps students to understand the positive role they can play in society, as visual communicators.

A professional designer with 20+ years of industry experience in Toronto, ON, Todd has a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies and is a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, dedicated to spreading the reality of our climate crisis through voluntary speaking engagements.

“This is Not Sustainable” poster series

Built primarily as a means for documenting design processes that use non-traditional materials to create visual communications, Todd wanted to produce a series of posters that communicate messages of sustainability.

Each poster combines materials that show dichotomies in our own production processes that are unsustainable.

Electricity generated by coal-fired power plants, industrialized farming practices where corn feed is predominantly used, and oil production processes that have adverse affects on our natural environment.

Logo design for Community Climate Hub

Community Climate Hub is an initiative of Climate Reality Project Canada.

Not only did I create the parent logo, but also logos for each local Climate Hub, across Canada (50+ and growing).

Climate Hubs help unify voices around a shared vision for decarbonization and advance their communities along the milestone process set out by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
