Climate Designer working in-house at the Sierra Club, supporting campaigns that fight for environmental justice and build a just transition to renewable energy

I've worked as a graphic designer for the Sierra Club for the last 7 years and have seen the power of local organizing defeat the goliaths of Big Fossil Fuel. Their greed targets the poor, black and brown communities as pollution dumping grounds, but when the people fight back we win. We've retired 312 coal plants, and now have 100 million Americans living in cities or states committed to transitioning to 100% Clean Energy.

Washington D.C. has infinite funds for bombs and aircraft carriers, but the budget's all dry when it comes to protecting our people from irreversible climate damage.

These graphics are part of an ongoing campaign to pass a Green New Deal, a jobs program inspired by Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, that will put millions back to work, and invest in an economy that works for all.

We have 10 years left to fight this crisis, and anything less than WWII style mobilization will leave a planet uninhabitable for the next generations.

In 2017, Indigenous, labor, civil rights, environmental, and other progressive groups marched hundreds of thousands strong on the White House. These graphics were used for recruitment for the march and support the day of and builds off the momentum of the 2014 Peoples Climate March.

This movement extends past the isolated, historically white, affluent greens and is building a diverse coalition of progressives groups, with the theme 'To Change Everything, We Need Everyone'.
