Climate Designer working to improve civic tech and climate communication in activism

I am an interaction designer working in the civic tech space on government innovation and improving climate communication and activism. I first began working on a sustainability initiative with MIT seeking to help multinational corporations find and implement sustainable solutions. Right now I am currently working in civic tech on a project to help improve the user experience of California's Judicial Court system and interstate procurement process while volunteering with the Sunrise Movement on creative strategy, education, and messaging. At Sunrise I am currently teaching a seminar examining the economic, cultural, and policy paths to a just & livable world while redesigning their national website. I am interested in exploring culture communications around climate change and learning about economic alternatives to growth dominated capitalism.

Shift Tools

I began working on climate working for MIT's Sloan School of Management on an online platform called Shift Tools.

The platform is made up of an evolving community of corporate sustainability practitioners, sustainability-oriented entrepreneurs, and impact investors working together to curate and review tools to help large corporations change their behavior.

I was brought on at the beginning of the project to help design the product strategy, UX/UI, and branding.

This would later lead to a follow-up project to redesign the United Nations Global Compact Sustainability Library.

Sunrise Movement

2019 was the year that I was called to take direct political action to address the severity of the climate crisis. After understanding the serious existential realities of systematically not addressing this crisis I felt called to volunteer my time and efforts.

I spent the year learning, organizing, creating and educating as a member of the Sunrise Movement, a national organization of young people fighting to instigate local and national political change to fight fossil fuel corruption and create a livable carbon zero future.

I am currently redesigning the Sunrise national website and helping with the creative strategy in the Bay Area.
