Our Second Crossover Episode with Climate with Kiama! As we are one week away for the launch of the next season of Climify, we thought it would be nice to continue to provide climate education and action through the work of some of our friends. So today, we invited a kindred spirit podcast Climate with Kiana to our platform to share climate solutions through a framework of joy and justice. The host of Climate with Kiana is Kiana Michaan, a renewable energy professional and climate justice organizer based in New York City.
About our guest
Wawa Gatheru, founder and executive director of Black Girl Environmentalist, shares her journey into environmental justice work and activism. We discuss ecowomanist theory and the role of black women in the climate movement. We also explore the importance of intergenerational knowledge sharing in climate justice movement building and how we can learn from the wisdom of our elders and ancestors. Wawa shares the important programs and solutions that her organization Black Girl Environmentalist offers to support and uplift black women in climate.
